A Midsummer Night's Dream is a certified jewel in the wondrous chasm that is Shakespeare's work. The play, set in Athens, follows young lovers escaping to a magical forest where fairies meddle with their affections, causing chaos and disarray. Meanwhile, amateur actors prepare a hilarious play. With mistaken identities and love potions, chaos reigns until the fairies set things right, leading to weddings and joy for all...kind of.

The vision for this rendition of Dream will be leaning into a timeless, folklore, bohemian feel, remaining as it was written, set in Athens. Other than making editorial cuts to the text, we will be remaining true to the text. One of the major drivers for this production will be the way we use live music and sound, refraining from utilising pre recorded sound. Our team has modified this script, cutting the text down to help streamline storylines, reduce the volume of text to trudge through rehearsal.

We are aiming for a run time of around 2 hours with a 20 minute interval.
