"In my experience, rarely do such manipulations of text not harm the original impact a script may hold, but this particular arrangement is arguably superior... While [the production] brilliantly highlights how the children of Wedekind’s world faced problems still unresolved today, it also offers hope... Sevenfold Theatre Company’s production of Spring Awakening is unlikely ever to be surpassed in my viewing experience, and I highly recommend you catch a performance while you still can.

BLUE TO THE HORIZON

written by Sarah Wynen

Winner of Best New Australian Music Theatre Writing at the 41st Annual Greenroom Awards.

"Blue to the Horizon is a uniquely ambitious new Australian musical that manages to play it safe with form and dramaturgy but dares to take a huge risk with story and structure – with some truly staggeringly brilliant results. Blue to the Horizon is a much needed and welcome addition to the new Australian musical lexicon and one that is deserving of investment and praise."

- Gavin Roach, Australian Arts Review

"For an original show to get a following from its respective audience, it must find a way to reel you in and grab your attention within the first ten to fifteen minutes but Blue To The Horizon seemed to do that almost instantaneously with its hard-hitting drama, intense subject matter and performance range."

"Sevenfold Theatre Company have certainly made their mark with this production, delivering an utterly witty, sassy and delicious camp triumph."

- Gavin Roach, Australian Arts Review

"Inspiration can be drawn from a myriad of places and situations. Occasionally, it can even be drawn from a single person. For Sevenfold Theatre Company’s latest production ‘Buyer & Cellar’, it is clear that the iconic Barbra Streisand offers no shortage of such inspiration. With ample servings of camp and heart, this one-man show is sure to bring smiles to the uninitiated and Strei-stans alike."

- Alley Edwards, Theatre Haus

"Each work is brimming with talent, intrigue and potential, and Sevenfold Theatre Company should be commended for creating a welcoming environment and fostering new and emerging talents. Festivals like Solstice are so important for getting works off the page, connecting artists to audiences and allowing creatives to take their first steps into the theatre landscape."

LAW & ORDER: PTV

SOUND DESIGNER - JOSHUA STRACHAN (HE/THEY)

PRODUCER - VITO MIDOLO (HE/HIM)

"This is without a doubt one of the most absurd and ridiculous pieces of ensemble comedy out there. Slapstick, pastiche, parody dance routines, dripping with unlikely and farfetched puns played large. It is not enough that the puns are obvious and deliberately silly, they are delivered with dramatic pauses, sound effects and lighting to emphasise the absurdity. This is shameless unadulterated fun. It never lets up."

- Sarah Liversidge, ArtsHub

There was something about the way they were nailing these moves at the very end. After having done what was a really impressive, vibrant, goofy strange show - they were dancing it was marvellous. Again, high energy, vibrant, fantastic. This group of people who have just done a whole show for you - the audience really liked it - they seemed really proud of it, justifiably. They’re doing this beautiful dance and all these feelings of pride and exuberance and excitement and joy they had from telling us this story, has been allowed to fill their bodies up and is now expressing itself through dance. it’s so nice to get to see people be this joyous and energised and passionate on stage in the theatre.”

- Jake Stewart & James Hardy, Praise Dionysus

"Sevenfold Theatre Company’s ‘Law and Order: PTV’ is a hilarious love letter to the city that doesn’t shy away from poking fun at its many shortcomings. In framing the show as a parody of television shows such as ‘CSI’, ‘NCIS’, or the titular ‘Law and Order’, Sevenfold encourages its audience to think, relate, and, of course, laugh. Theatregoers should definitely not delay onboarding this comedic train ride. Next stop – hilarity."

- Alley Edwards, Theatre Haus

SEASON 2021

LAW & ORDER: PTV

written by Fae O’Toole

"From start to finish this show is outrageously hilarious and incredibly in character for a PTV comedy parody of Law & Order. The work itself is very funny, with the laughs being perfectly aimed at a Melbourne audience who are all too familiar with the public transport system and the huge fines for fare evading. Overall, the cast is hilarious and have created a truly unique Melbourne comedy that is so funny and fun to enjoy."

- Stephanie Lee, Theatre Travels

"Shakespeare was celebrated joyfully last night in a Sevenfold Theatre Company production of Much Ado About Nothing in an inner-city backyard in Kingsville, Melbourne. While the level of professional experience of the ensemble is new and the company is in its debut season in the Melbourne theatre scene, there is certainly a place for this pleasurable outdoor Shakespearean production and its promising ensemble."
